Barkmann’s Corner Revisited

I decided to re-create the battle of Barkmann’s Corner using some of the correct pieces since the Commonwealth module had come out but never got around to it since recently.

I first want to thank “Jaws” for making the Original outstanding Scenario “Barkmann’s Corner”, it alone helped motivate me to re-create battles that are hopefully just as enjoyable.
I also want to thank the Battlefront Community forums, and to the Scenario Depot. Just a great group of people that really are a wealth of information and technical skills.

I also have to give credit to the Axis History Forum, in which I credit it as helping me create this scenario. There I gathered a lot more information in one place then a lot of my books, thanks to the likes of Michael Kenny, RichTO90, & Cannonade.

Also to sites like Achtung Panzer and a few books on the shelf.

Spoiler Alert:

NOTE: In this Scenario I have Barkmann starting on the Right hand side of the road. I had read somewhere, cant remember the source, but it would have been a tactic used as the unsuspecting vehicles would have not seen Barkmann’s Panther initially. Having been on the right hand side Barkmann would have also most likely seen the tanks traversing through the fields to his left as well. This obviously is all hypothetical however I think I have tried to recreate another exciting scenario for the most part.

Duel in the Mist v2.0

Thank you to all playtesters for their help with the previous versions. A much updated version of “H2H Duel in the Mist” geared towards singleplayer. US v AI only.

Changes reflect more accurate topography and historical units present. This is not a difficult mission, but rather one that puts stresses force preservation. The American commander can almost certainly win the scenario, but must do so at acceptable cost.

Meeting Engagement Large Farmland

CM BATTLE FOR NORMANDY, CM BATTLE FOR NORMANDY [MAPS], FARMLAND, MEETING ENGAGEMENT

This is a fictional QB map for CMBN loosely inspired by three trips to Normandy and Brittany. It’s a fairly large map (1712 x 1728 meters) intended for ME but it can be used in a number of other scenarios. It has been made to provide a large spectrum of tactical possibilities in a variety of context and forces while feeling realistic.

There are three objectives of equal values dispersed across the middle of the map to encourage players to exploit the whole area. Setup zones are east-west and rather thin, again to encourage players to think about the development of their forces.

Enjoy! – Tarkus

CM BATTLE FOR NORMANDY [SCENARIOS], MEDIUM, PROBE, SCENARIO VS AI ONLY

Normandy, August 1944. The British 43rd Recce is pushing deeper inland towards Falaise, ahead of the 43rd (Wessex) Infantry Division.

After a long advance through the Norman countryside all morning, suddenly the drowsy heat of noon is split by the sharp crack of a rifle. It is immediately followed by a loud crash as the lead jeep speeds out of control and smashes into something up ahead.

You shout for your men to get out of their halftracks and secure a perimeter, while your own orders come crackling through the radio link: Clear suspected ambush positions in the orchards ahead, then push on to secure the road junction, in order to continue the advance of the division.

SL44 (1) Coastal Assault

Prelude to an Invasion

An Introduction to an Alternative History.

On June 6th 1944, at 06:00 hours, 1st Squad, are the only troops to reach the rendezvous on time.

They decided to scout the harbour area quickly. On their return, they join up with 1st platoons’ HQ “Shorker”, together with a Medium mortar team.

The British Home Guard, part time soldiers, with a few regulars are defending the harbour. The gently westerly wind had aided the landings of those of 3rd Company whose craft had avoided the RAF and anti-aircraft guns.

It is warm, the ground dry, however there is now a light rain, falling. “Shorker”, confirms the attack on the harbour will go ahead, as the first invasion barges will reach the harbour after 06:55. They are currently on route.

Contact with 3rd Company’s H/Q had been made.
